The Big One.

Tomorrow (the 15th) is my first birthday and I'm really excited. Mom and dad threw a party for me over the weekend. All my friends came and it was great. Here's a rundown of the fun.

Here I am getting the party favors ready. We had an Sesame Street theme.
It's pretty much my favorite show and I love Elmo.

I got to play with my friends Eli and Jack.
Also there were Everett, Eli's brother Zach, and Milo and his sister Margo.
Unfortunately, dad didn't get a good picture of all of us together.

After playing and eating lunch, we opened presents.
Mom helped me out, and my friends did too.
As you can see, I was pretty happy with my haul.
I got lots of great toys, books, and clothes.
Now dad's just wondering where we're going to put all of this stuff.

Then, it was cake time! Mom made me this cool Elmo cake.

She also made some great red velvet cupcakes.

Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" and I blew out the candle (with some help from mom).

Then, I got my first taste of the sweet stuff. At first I wasn't sure what to think.

But, soon enough, I found out that this dessert stuff is pretty good.

Then, well, enough was enough.

Hyped up on all that sugar, that's when the party really started getting wild.

It was one of the best days I've had my whole life. I'm glad all my friends and family got to celebrate with me. I hope they had as much fun as I did. We'll have to do it up even bigger next year!

Waaaay Belated Holiday Recap

So, it's been awhile. The blame for this rests soley on my dad. He is pretty much the laziest person I know. I apologize.

Anyway, it was a great first Christmas. As you can see from the lead photo, I went to see Santa. Here's a picture of mom and me waiting in line. As for Santa, he's not all bad. Actually, the "official" picture--the one mom and dad payed the big bucks for--I was smiling. (But dad's too lazy to scan that in, plus he thinks this one is funnier.) And in the end it was all worth it, because he brought me some pretty cool stuff.

On Christmas Eve, we went to my Great Grandma Griffin's house. Here we are hanging out by the fireplace. I saw a lot of my great aunts, uncles, and second cousins, who I haven't seen in awhile. So that was really cool.

On Christmas day we headed up to Grandma and Grandpa Griffin's house. Great Grandma Timper was there and my great aunts came in from Portland, so I got to meet them for the first time. Here I am opening a gift from my aunt Kate. Also notice the cool scarf my aunt Megan knitted for me. Turned out I was pretty spoiled for my first Christmas.

We got a lot of snow over the holidays, so my dad thought it would be a good idea to get some pictures of me playing in the powder. I didn't think it was that great of an idea. So this is all he got. Maybe when I'm a little older I'll have fun making snow angels. But, right now, I just think that stuff is cold! (It also might have helped if dad put my mittens on before setting me down.)

As for New Year's Eve, well, I slept through the revelry. But, this is pretty much how I would have looked had I stayed up.

So, that's about it. Hopefully my dad will get his act together and it won't be another two months until he helps me update my blog. After all, I do have a pretty significant birthday coming up in a week.
