My Buddy Jack

Last week my mom and dad took me up to University Hospital to meet my new friend Jack. He was born on 2/15, exactly one month after me. But, even though I'm a month older, I'm not much bigger. That's OK though. Here I think I'm trying to give him some pointers on the best ways to wake up mom and dad in the middle of the night. Don't know if he was really interested though. He's not as big of a trouble maker as I am.

Happy Valentine's Day!

As the newly annointed "King of Hearts" I thought I'd wish all my family, friends, and fans a happy Valentine's Day.

Frustration sets in.

Hey everyone! I've been trying to update my blog with some videos of me hanging out, but my dad's computer is so LAME! It's driving me nuts!

Other than that, I'm doing great. Though, last evening something wasn't sitting right in my belly and I threw up so much it came out my nose. But, I've just been doing my normal little spit-ups since then, so I've been fine. At least it cleared out my sinuses. (And luckily mom and dad bought a couch with a machine-washable slip-cover.)

Anyway, I hope I can get this video thing straightened out. These pictures are cool, but I'm sure some of you would like to see me in action.

See you later!

Just Hangin' this Weekend

My first weekend home has been a great one. I got a sponge bath from mom and dad. Then my Grandma and Grandpa Griffin came over with my aunts Megan and Kate. They all finally got Kate to hold me. She was pretty nervous but she did a great job.

On Sunday I got to meet my great aunt Mary Kay, who made me a really cool quilt. Then my Great Grandma Griffin came over to see me.

Check out these pictures of all the weekend festivities:

Stop Circumcision Now!

At the risk of telling you more than you wanted to know, I finally got circumcised yesterday. They didn't do it at the hospital because of everything I was going through, but I wish they would have gotten it over with. This picture isn't of the actual event but it conveys how it felt pretty well.

Who came up with this crazy ritual anyway?

I'm completely normal

After a long 30 hours at Primary Children's Medical Center--where they poked me, prodded me, stuck a bunch of electrodes on my head for an EEG, and even put me under for an MRI--the diagnosis is in: I have the jimmy-legs.

The pediatric neurologists say I have nothing that would indicate a problem with seizures. They even think my seizure may not have been a seizure at all, but something they call, "The Fifth Day Fits." They're kind of like those tremors most people get when they're sleeping. Anyway, they told my mom and dad to watch me, but they felt confident that they'd never have to see me around those parts again.

So, after spending 9 of my first 10 days on earth in hospitals, I'm going to take a break from that scene for awhile (hopefully 100 years or so) and start living life as a normal kid.

OK, I do have a little jaundice left, as you can see in my eyes in the photo above, but rest assured that's getting better every day.

Oh, and in other news, my "official" hospital photos have been posted if you'd like to check those out.

I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of you soon.

Homecoming

Here's a pic if me in my car seat as I headed home yesterday. Despite what it looks like, I was very excited.

Thanks to all the doctors and nurses who took great care of me in the NICU.

My first day home was great. I got to eat, sleep, fuss a little. I even managed to pee on my dad a couple times!

Today I'm going to Primary Children's Hospital to see a pediatric neurologist and get a few more precautionary tests done. Hopefully those will come back normal, just like my other tests, and I'll be able to resume my life as the healthy, happy baby boy I am!

Keep your fingers and toes crossed!
