Mother's Day Revisited

Obviously this past Sunday was Mother's Day. We had a lot of fun. We went up to Grandma and Grandpa Griffin's for brunch. Both of my great grandmas were there too. I had some french toast and a whole lotta grapes and strawberries.

Later in the afternoon, we went to the park for a picnic.

Dad was dumb and forgot to put the memory card in the camera, so we don't have any good photos of mother's day.

But there is this short video clip. Mom's trying to get me to wear a hat, but I'm not having any of it. Hey, I don't want any hats covering up my locks. Seeing dad's hairline, I don't know how long I have to show off my hair.

Mom said she's going to get me a hat that ties around the chin. But I'm not worried.

Happy Mother's Day anyway mom.

Freshly Shorn

This past weekend mom and dad took me to get my first haircut. I was pretty cool with it. For the most part I just sat there watching Ernie from Sesame Street give some sort of counting lesson. I also liked steering the little airplane they had me sitting in.

The only thing that bugged me was the electric clippers at the end.

I don't know what to think about the cut. Before, I had a kind of laid-back, whispy-haired hipster vibe going on.
Now I just look like every other square kid in Utah.

Well, at least hair grows back.

Also, as a follow-up to the last post, we went to the allergist for further tests. They poked my back with a bunch of needles. I personally thought that was kind of rude. But mom and dad just let them attack me.

As for the results, it turns out that I'm only allergic to peanuts. I'm not even allergic to my dogs and cat. Not yet anyway. They say there's about a 20% chance I'll outgrow it. But, for now, be sure to keep peanuts away.

Aw Nuts

Hey everyone,

Last Sunday my mom and dad thought they'd make me a PB&J sandwich. They had given me a peanut butter cookie a week or so earlier, and I liked it.

As for the sandwich, I wasn't crazy about it. I spit out the two or three bites mom gave to me. Then, about 5 minutes later my mom noticed a hive on my nose. Then another on my cheek.

Next thing I knew I was up at Primary Children's Med Center with a swollen face and eyes, along with some labored breathing.
Long story short, I had a pretty severe allergic reaction to the peanuts. And I had to stay the night at the hospital.
Everything is OK now though. I just have to be careful. On Monday I have to go to an allergy specialist to get tested--just to make sure I'm not allergic to anything else.
I'll report back if they find anything.

Free Swim

On Saturday, I went to the Fairmont Aquatic Center for my first swimming lesson. At first I wasn't too sure about this whole water thing. Frankly, it freaked me out. But, after the group took a little lap around the pool I relaxed a bit and enjoyed moving through the water.

I still don't really like floating on my back. And don't even think of letting my head go under water. But hopefully, after a few lessons, I'll know I can trust my dad not to let go of me and it will all be fun.

Day in the Park

This past weekend mom and dad took me to a little neighborhood park up by the Univerisity. They had some fun things for kids to play on. I had my first ride on the swingset, the slide, and they even had a triceratops. Most of the playthings were for bigger kids, and I was kinda scared at first, but mom helped me out.

So was it fun? Watch the video and find out.

Happy Easter

It was a fun Easter weekend for me. On Saturday, we went up to my friend Jack's house and they had a big egg hunt for a bunch of kids.

Here I am, finding a football egg.
I was very proud of myself.

After I collected my bounty, we posed for a family snapshot. Mom and dad are smiling, but I'm still scanning the yard for eggs.

Hey, there was money in some of those things.

The First Stand

Hey all,

I'm not walking yet. But I'm getting there. Here's a little music video I made up so you can see my progress. There's also the obligatory dance breakdown. I hope you like it.
